Dead Laptop

Blogging from my mobile phone sucks. I know because that's what I'm doing right now. My laptop, on the decline for the past few months, finally died. I'd been able to bring it back for hours at a time, seizing the opportunity to quickly get things done but this time, it's dead and there's no bringing it back to life on my own.

My Android is also dying. It emits no sound, not even the ringer works.

Imagine the implications!

Me, on mute.

Hooray, you might hollar, it's so much less noisy without you here.

I know! I agree - I'm LOUD and I WHINE but I'm even worse when I've got to keep it bottled up, believe me.

Still, I have emails to answer, blog posts to write, photos to upload, to name a few.

Sure, I can do some of this on my phone but I hate typing from my phone. It's not easy.

So, Mo, if you're reading this, I am coming to your party on Sunday! I just can't get the Evite to come up on my phone. Gah.

I need a new laptop. I need a new phone.

I need ... an income.

The salary of a SAHM just doesn't seem to pay enough.

If we were to add up all the points my kids and I have accumulated playing games on the Sony PSP 3000, I would be the biggest loser.

Kids: 10,000 points   Mom: 10 points

I'm just not good at video games.

Way back in the early days of video games, my brother and I used to play Super Mario, Asteroids and Defender. My brother excelled at video games, while I struggled. My parents tried to keep things fair, making us take turns using the two player option. His turn, my turn. His turn, my turn. Only my brother's turn would stretch to thirty minutes or longer, before it was my turn again. I'd be so excited and then, three scant minutes would go by... and I'd lose and then it would be my brother's turn yet again. I did all that waiting around just to have to wait around again.

Not fun.

I bought two games for our new Sony PSP: Toy Story 3 and Lego Harry Potter (see a great review of this game on Who's the Boss). Before I showed the game to my boys, I tried out the games, starting with Toy Story 3.

Mini Geek

Yesterday, I followed my boys into my parents' garage (an old habit, we all prefer to enter the house via the garage). The garage was devoid of cars so my boys ran in, excited to see their grandma and grandpa. All of a sudden, Chalk Boy went down. Uh oh, I thought. He's slipped on the hard concrete floor.

I caught up to my little guy who was lying very still on his belly, head propped up like a seal.

Are you okay? What are you doing down there?

Then I noticed grandpa's desktop computer, its guts exposed, on the floor of the garage.

My boy was merely curious. He wasn't hurt at all.

The circuit boards! The wires! The fan!

He couldn't resist. His little hands poked around, his eyes wide with joy.

What does it all do? How does it all come together?
